The National Kidney Foundation of Iowa is one of 51 affiliates of the National Kidney Foundation, a not-for-profit, tax exempt, national voluntary health agency. The NKFI activities are governed by a volunteer board of directors of both lay and medical volunteers throughout the state. All programs and services are made possible through cash and in-kind support from a generous public.

Our Mission

The mission of the National Kidney Foundation of Iowa is to prevent kidney and urinary tract diseases, improve the health and well-being of patients and families affected by these diseases, and increase the availability of all organs for transplantation.
