About Us
The National Kidney Foundation of Iowa has been in existence since 1970 working to prevent kidney and urinary tract diseases, improve the health and well-being of individuals and families affected by these diseases, and increase the availability of all organs for transplantation. We are a not-for-profit, tax exempt, national voluntary health agency supported entirely by charitable donations.
Who We Serve
Services and support are provided to kidney patients, transplant recipients, their families, and renal health care professionals. Our geographical territory includes the entire state of Iowa (99 counties) and the Henry, Mercer, and Rock Island counties in Illinois. More than 243,500 adults in our territory have kidney disease and most do not know it. More than 2,000 people are receiving dialysis treatments.
